SYNAGOGUES CONVERTED INTO CHURCHES

There were Jews in Trani from Roman times until 1541, when all Jews were expelled from southern Italy. In Trani there were four synagogues. But around 1380, at the time of Charles III of Durres, all the synagogues were converted into churches. Now the church of Santa Maria in Scolanova is again a synagogue.
